Yesterday Today & Forever

Just wanted to recommend Vicky Beeching's new album released on Survivor and Six step records. Great production, great songs and a really great resource for local church worship. Several of the songs have been re recorded and given a new lease of life. Enjoy!

Have we worshipped?

OK, so we've got the band, we've got the songlist and the congregation; the songs have started and the Holy Spirit is present, but have we worshipped? I hope so. But have we?

Often I wonder whether we are held back in our hope of engagement that may never happen uless we let ourselves fall into God. Some would say its about time, space, dynamics of the room, sounds etc: but does it, in the end, just come down to choice and attitude?

"I won't give to the Lord that which costs me nothing." This is something that has stuck in my throat recently like swallowing a bolied sweet. Often I wonder if my worship is on my terms rather than a sacrifice pleasing to Him. The sacrifices of the original covenant had to cost something and needed to smell nice. It was a messy and smally business. So have we worshipped when we come together with our small song offerings and sounds? I think the question is did it cost me something? Do I feel laid bare by the Holy Spirit? Do I wonder what is inside or am I thinking about the style of, and choice of, songs. Am I giving myself, pouring my self out with no desire of personal gain in the hope that I may become more Christ like?
